One in a Million Award recipient: Laurie Hanson

Where she's multiplying good: Ramsey, MN

How she's multiplying good: Since early March, Laurie has been doing highway cleanup along the city streets and trails of the City of Ramsey in Minnesota. She's been out nearly every day, often picking up two or three bags full of trash. So far she has gathered up 156 bags of trash, about 1.5 tons (at 20 lbs per bag). She's cleaned up city streets, county roads, numerous trails and sidewalks, ditches, and several city parks.

Due to the restrictions imposed by the covid 19 pandemic, many civic organizations in Ramsey that have adopted city streets are unable to collect garbage. Laurie has picked up trash in many of these areas, so these organizations don't need to.

For her efforts, Laurie was recognized in May as a Citizen of the Month for the city.
